Revolutionary Road is an upcoming drama movie directed by Sam Mendes and starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. It is a movie adaptation of the 1961 novel of the same name by Richard Yates. The film should be release in late December 2008.

The Plot:
"Set in 1955, the plot focuses on the hopes and aspirations of Frank and April Wheeler, self-assured Connecticut suburbanites who see themselves as very different from their neighbors in the Revolutionary Hill Estates. April is an aspiring actress who yearns to move to Paris, while Frank copes with toiling away at a corporate job he despises by drinking too heavily and engaging in an affair with a co-worker. The couple's marriage slowly dissolves into an endless cycle of bitter arguments and jealous recriminations." (Source: Wikipedia)
Yates once said about his central theme:
"If my work has a theme, I suspect it is a simple one: that most human beings are inescapably alone, and therein lies their tragedy."

So judging from this Revolutionary Road trailer I think the movie does respect the spirit of Yates' novels. Director Sam Mendes has indeed made a great work in directing his talented cast: the result is a movie that gives real life to its characters.
If I may slightly change Writer Alfred Kazin's words about Yates' book, I would say that Revolutionary Road is a powerful movie on the way people lived in the 1950's.
By the way, in case you're wondering about the soundtrack of this Revolutionary Road trailer: the main song is "Wild in the wind" by Nina Simone.

I would be very grateful if someoe could tell me which rendition/version (from which specific album) of the "Wild is the Wind" song, by Nina Simone, is the one that accompanies this trailer. I've found only a version that is different from this one (from the trailer), and it is not quite the same. The one played with this trailer is just much more soulful and romantic.
If someone knows which version is the one played here, please let me know ASAP.
ive been looking for that song everywhere...... or rather the name of it. thanxs for posting!
The Answer to the question on Nina Simone's song played with original promo trailer:
Album name: "Quite Now: Night Song" (by Nina Simone). "Wild is the Wind" is part of that album and is performed live.
This info was found (after many hours of e-searching) thanks to a posting by a blogger in Mog.com.
I too have fallen for the trailer version of Nina Simone's "Wild is the Wind!" Thank you so much for the information. iTunes here I come!
Actually, the trailer version of the Nina Simone song comes off of the album "Nina Simone for Lovers". It is a live version of "Wild Is The Wind". You can tell right away by the haunting piano notes. I found it on iTunes after much clicking and listening!! You can trust...this IS the one!
